Read this before you register. Each stage lists exactly what is expected of you.

Registration

Create an account, complete your profile, and register for the cycle.
- Open to students who have completed or are completing Grade 12 in Nepal.
- You will need your citizenship/passport details, academic records and a recent photograph.
- Registration is reviewed by the selection committee before it is confirmed.

Learning phase
Aug — Oct 2026
Structured preparation material released to every registered candidate.
- Syllabus-aligned notes covering machine learning, linear algebra, probability and Python.
- Recorded lectures from Nepali and international instructors.
- Practice tests that mirror the format of the national selection exam.

National selection exam
8 Nov 2026
A single proctored online exam — objective round plus a subjective round.
- Sat online under live camera proctoring from your own device.
- Objective round is auto-graded; the subjective round is graded by a review panel.
- A mandatory system check runs before the exam window opens.

National team announcement
5 Dec 2026
The national team is published and candidates are notified directly.
- Results and rank are released to every candidate on their dashboard.
- Selected students enter a dedicated training camp before departure.
- Certificates of participation are issued to all who sit the exam.

International AI Olympiad

Nepal's team represents the country on the world stage.
- Team travel, visa and logistics are coordinated by AION.
- Students compete in scientific and practical rounds against national teams worldwide.
- Results are recorded on each participant's permanent achievement record.
