Nepal’s route to the International AI Olympiad
We exist for one purpose: to find the students who can best represent Nepal, prepare them properly, and get them to the world stage.
Mission
To identify, challenge, and elevate Nepal’s most promising young talent in artificial intelligence by providing a fair national platform and creating pathways for them to represent Nepal on the world stage.
AION — the AI Olympiad of Nepal — was formed to be that route.
Why AION Exists
Nepal has talented students with the potential to compete globally in artificial intelligence. AION gives that talent a national platform to be discovered, challenged, and connected to opportunities beyond Nepal.
Building Nepal’s AI Talent Pipeline
AION is designed to strengthen Nepal’s future AI ecosystem by encouraging students to develop deeper technical skills, compete with their peers, and pursue ambitious opportunities in artificial intelligence.
What AION is not
AION is not an AI course, coaching program, or training institute. Participants prepare independently using the published syllabus and resources, while AION provides the competition platform and a fair pathway for students to demonstrate their abilities.

Open to Students Across Nepal
Students from anywhere in Nepal can participate. AION is designed to give talented students a fair opportunity to compete regardless of where they study or live.
03Transparency
Clear From the Beginning
The syllabus, eligibility requirements, competition format, key dates, and selection criteria are published in advance so participants know what to expect throughout the cycle.
04Preparation
Resources for Independent Preparation
Participants prepare independently, with AION providing the official syllabus, guidelines, and selected learning resources to help them understand the scope and expectations of each stage.
Organising body
Who runs AION
AION is run under the BRAIN Foundation through a dedicated team responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of each Olympiad cycle.
Program Leadership
The Program Director provides overall direction for AION, overseeing the competition structure, partnerships, standards, and long-term development of the Olympiad.
Program Coordination
The Program Coordinator manages day-to-day operations, participant communication, timelines, logistics, and coordination across each stage of the competition.
AI Experts
AION works with experts from industry and academia who contribute to competition design, technical standards, problem development, evaluation, and academic quality.
BRAIN Foundation
BRAIN Foundation provides the institutional home, governance, and operational support required to run AION sustainably and represent Nepal’s AI talent on the global stage.
