About

Nepal’s route to the International AI Olympiad

We exist for one purpose: to find the students who can best represent Nepal, prepare them properly, and get them to the world stage.

Mission

Nepal has never lacked students who can compete at the highest level. What it lacked was a route.

AION — the AI Olympiad of Nepal — was formed to be that route.

What was missing

A published syllabus. An assessment every candidate could sit on the same terms. An organisation willing to take the resulting team abroad and stand behind it.

What AION runs

The selection cycle end to end — registration, preparation, a proctored national exam, a training camp, and the delegation itself. One body is accountable for the whole route.

What AION is not

A training institute. We do not sell courses; the preparation material exists so that the exam measures ability rather than access.

Principles

How we run the selection

Four commitments that shape every decision the committee makes.

01Merit

Merit, and nothing else

Selection rests on one published syllabus and one national exam. No interviews, no institutional quotas, no fees that could exclude a candidate.

02Access

Open to the whole country

The process runs entirely online so that a student in Jumla sits the same exam, under the same conditions, as a student in Kathmandu.

03Transparency

Transparent from the outset

Dates, criteria, syllabus and exam format are published before registration opens and do not change mid-cycle.

04Preparation

Preparation, not just assessment

Every registered candidate receives the full preparation library. A student's access to material should not decide their result.

Organising body

Who runs the cycle

The selection committee is drawn from academic partners and past delegates. Named appointments for the current cycle are published with the registration announcement.

Chair, Selection Committee

Final authority on eligibility, exam integrity and team selection.

Academic Director

Owns the syllabus, the question bank and the standard of the selection exam.

Examinations Office

Runs the exam window, proctoring review and the results process.

Delegation Lead

Training camp, travel, visas and Nepal's representation at the world Olympiad.
